QUESTIONS GÉNÉRIQUES
NCDconnect is a digital procurement platform designed to improve access to affordable, quality-assured noncommunicable diseases (NCD) medicines and medical devices in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Developed by IDA Foundation in collaboration with Solvoz, NCDconnect enables streamlined procurement tailored to the needs of healthcare organisations addressing noncommunicable diseases.
We are committed to locally-led development. We engage with local partners, NGOs, and ministries of health. Since NCDconnect is part of IDA Foundation, we share the same goal: to source 20% of our product portfolio locally by 2030. Learn more about IDA’s Sustainability commitment. NCDconnect is not just a tool — it’s part of a long-term effort to build resilient health systems.
NCDconnect is specifically built to improve access to noncommunicable disease (NCD) health products in low- and middle-income countries. Unlike general medical suppliers or commercial platforms, NCDconnect is not-for-profit and disease-focused—developed to support healthcare organisations with fair pricing, practical tools, and reliable supply.
Our specialised catalogue is tailored by disease and country needs, offering complete treatment regimens and product bundles. Every item on the platform goes through a quality assurance process — whether WHO-prequalified, SRA-approved, or IDA-reviewed through internal dossier assessments.
We also reduce procurement complexity by consolidating products and suppliers in one place, minimising intermediaries and supply chain risks. Backed by IDA Foundation’s 50+ years of experience, NCDconnect supports more efficient, transparent, and context-aware procurement for NCD care.
We understand that many governments and organisations operate within tender-based procurement frameworks. However, tenders can often be complex, time-consuming, and difficult to manage — particularly for fragmented NCD needs. They may also lead to unintended gaps in access or treatment discontinuities for chronic conditions such as diabetes and cancer, where consistent availability is critical.
Our goal at NCDconnect is to work with you as a solutions partner. We can operate within tender systems where needed, and we’ve also partnered at the policy level to enable parallel procurement—through both tenders and digital platforms—giving your teams the flexibility to select the products and partners that bring the most value to health systems and patients. Whether you’re exploring a full tender or looking for a more streamlined solution, our team is available to advise and engage accordingly.
Toutes les organisations desservant les pays à revenu faible ou intermédiaire tels que définis par la Banque Mondiale.
NCDconnect is built for health-focused organisations such as ministries of health, NGOs, faith-based organisations, implementing partners, and other institutional buyers who procure NCD-related medicines and medical devices.
No, registration and access to NCDconnect are completely free of charge. You only pay for the products, shipping, and standard procurement fees — which are transparently included in your quote. These fees help cover our operational costs, but as a not-for-profit organisation, we do not add unnecessary margins. Our goal is to keep pricing fair, transparent, and focused on impact.
Yes. As a not-for-profit social enterprise, our focus is not on margins but on making quality-assured products affordable and accessible. We offer fair pricing through direct sourcing, consolidated procurement, and our decades of experience navigating complex global supply chains.
While that’s possible, NCDconnect offers added value by consolidating quality-assured, pre-vetted products into one platform — reducing fragmentation, procurement complexity, and risk. All products on the platform are sourced through a robust vetting process: they are either WHO-prequalified, SRA-approved, or IDA-approved through a rigorous internal quality dossier review. This ensures every product meets high-quality standards tailored to the realities of LMIC health systems. In addition, we offer end-to-end support, pricing stability, and transparency to help organisations scale their impact with confidence.
